Anton Maurer is an artist and photographer born and based in Tāmaki Makaurau, Aotearoa.
His book Endeavour, published by Bad News Books and exhibited at Te Papa in 2022,
focused on the impact of capitalism and colonisation on Aotearoa’s landscape.
Maurer’s latest series Care is derived by how legislative inequalities impact access to health
care for people living with Rare Disorders in Aotearoa. An exhibition of the work was shown at RM Gallery
in July 2023.
Anton holds qualifications in Fine Art and Photography from the Unitec Institute of Technology,
Elam School of Fine Arts, UoA and SoFA, Whitecliffe College.
He has made photographs for clients in Apia, Berlin, Florence, Oxford, Rakiura, and Tāmaki Makaurau.
